PRODUCT NOTES:

  • Working Condition: All Keys Work
  • Basic service performed:
    • Vacuum dust.
    • Basic cleaning of the machine.
    • Lubricate essential moving parts.
    • Segment has been flushed and keys and have been aligned. Due to the age of this machine, there may be keys that do stick. If so, put a little denatured alcohol or lacquer thinner in the slot where the key hits the segment and press keys continuously until it’s free. Sometimes, the "T" and "Y" keys slightly stick.
    • Platen cleaned and it does roll, but since it's thinned out due to it's age, it doesn't catch the paper as easily as it should. You will need to nudge the paper to feed it properly.
    • Carriage moves nicely.
    • Bell works.
    • Nice and responsive typing action.
  • Cosmetic Condition: Great Overall
    • Some minor scratches consistent with its age and usage.
  • What’s Included:
    • Ribbon is still good and should last for a little bit with casual typing.
    • Case in good overall condition. There are some scratches, stains, and worn fabric consistent with its age and use.

My machines have been cleaned, lubricated, and adjusted for optimal functionality. I try to mitigate the amount of cleaning materials used during in order to preserve the life and longevity of each machine.

  • Cleaning
    • Dust, ink, and grime are removed as much as possible.
    • A soft brush and compressed air clear out debris from the type bars and chassis.
    • Platen (rubber roller) is cleaned with a mild solvent to help restore grip.
    • I try to limit the use of harsh chemicals.
  • Lubrication
    • Moving parts like the carriage rails, type bar pivots, and shift mechanism are lightly lubricated with typewriter-specific oil.

Shipments are all packed with bubble wrap and paper to ensure package is tightly secured to mitigate any damage during delivery.
