This is a vintage 11/16 JR Torrey Co. "199" Straight razor. Torrey Co is one of the most famous razor makers from the USA and made from real American steel. They are high quality razors that take a keen and long lasting shaving edge. Torrey razors are one of the best deals in the wet shaving hobby, it's hard to find a higher quality razor at the price points they sell for.
This particular razor is in excellent condition with basically no serious signs of age. Has some minor staining and micro scratches/pitting but all purely cosmetic. It has a good polish still with great eye appeal. Definitely a good daily driver razor in the perfect size. It has gorgeous cracked ice/pearlescent celluloid scales.
Fully honed in proper progression and finished on a Yellow-Green Escher/thuringian hone. Edges examined under 60-200x magnification at each stage.
Stropped on premium vintage linen and japanese shell cordovan strop.
