I love this antique 1930's double wedding quilt (73 X 84) for it's choice of mainly blue feedsacks with red feedsacks and inner squares. It looks patriotic! The choice of yellow accent for the inner squares and border binding really sets off the blue and red. There are many different feedsacks, that must have taken the qulter a long time to collect. Cream muslin was used for the background and backing. The binding is unusual with alternate red and yellow binding fabrics, handstitched on both sides. There is NO machine quilting on this venerable quilt, it was all hand pieced.
All four sides are scalloped
The hand quilting is extensive at 8 stitches per inch.
