Up for sale is an incredibly rare, culturally fascinating archive consisting of five (5) original vintage issues of \"ISKRA\" (Искра) newsletters. These unique documents were independently produced and self-published between March 1967 and May 1968 by the student-run Russian Language Clubs of Joliet Catholic High School and Oak Park High School in Illinois, USA.

At the absolute height of the Cold War and the Space Race, these American high school students bridged the geopolitical divide by diving deep into Soviet/Russian history, literature, space achievements, and language studies. Instead of anti-communist propaganda, these booklets represent a genuine, youthful attempt at cultural exchange and educational exploration.

Every single page is a piece of art, created using a vintage spirit duplicator / mimeograph machine (ditto master), resulting in the highly nostalgic, vibrant purple ink characteristic of 1960s underground and independent publishing (\"Samizdat\" style).
