2 Vtg Lydia Pinkham\'s Vegetable Compound Advertising Metal Sewing Tube Kits
Here are 2 vintage sewing kit tube advertising promotional \"Lydia E. Pinkham\'s Vegetable Compound\"pocket or travel sized sewing kits shaped like a bullet or capsule.
I have placed a ruler in some pictures for size reference. Almost 2 1/4\" long.
The metal tubes may be aluminum (non-magnetic) and the lids lift off. Inside each is a metal thread spindle for mending. Incomplete. Each comes with a thimble - neither are original I believe. Missing any needles other sewing items that may have been included.
- Bullet shaped tube with \"Lydia E. Pinkham\'s Vegetable Compound Blood Medicine Sanative Wash Liver Pills\" along one side. The spindle (with cap) has 2 wooden spools of black and white thread and there are 3 needles inside (I cannot say if the needles are original). There is a \"The Prudential Life Insurance Made In U.S.A.\" advertising aluminum thimble. The thimble is lightly bent / misshapen and has light tarnish. The tube has light scratches and tarnish, and there are a couple of little dents on the bullet cap end.
- Capsule shaped tube with \"Lydia E. Pinkham\'s Vegetable Compound\" along one side and the bottom is marked \"Made In U.S.A.\" The spindle (with cap) has 3 cardboard spools of brown, black and tan thread, and no needles. There is a small unmarked brass thimble. The thimble has tarnish, darkened patina. The tube has light scratches and tarnish, and there are a few little dents on the cap end.
No musty or smoke odor.
