ORIGINAL OLD STOCK — LOT OF 20 — FOUND TOGETHER IN ORIGINAL PACKAGING

Outstanding group of 20 original vintage Placerville, California fruit crate/box labels, preserved together in their original old packaging.

These were not assembled individually from different sources. The labels were found together as an original packaged stack, and the original packaging is included with the lot. This is a particularly nice find for collectors because the group has remained together rather than being separated and sold individually over the years.

Each colorful lithographed label reads:

PLACERVILLE
CALIFORNIA FRUITS
EL DORADO COUNTY, CALIF.

The artwork features a large peach and blue/purple plums with the Earl Fruit Company of California trademark. The lower portion also bears the printer’s identification for Schmidt Litho Co., San Francisco.

• 20 matching original vintage labels
• Original packaging in which the labels were found
• Entire group sold together as discovered

The labels appear to be unused new-old-stock (NOS) and display exceptionally strong color. The backs remain clean and unmounted, consistent with labels that were stored rather than applied to fruit crates.

This is a beautiful piece of Placerville and El Dorado County agricultural history, with crossover appeal to collectors of California advertising, fruit crate labels, orchard memorabilia, lithography, Western Americana and vintage ephemera.

Condition: Excellent unused vintage condition overall.
