Pink manganoan calcite crystals are seen here from Nikolaevskiy Mine, Dalnegorsk, Russia. This piece consists of a twinned, rhombohedral calcite with a highly stepped structure. The calcite formed over preexisting calcite that can still be seen on the bottom of the piece. It’s got good luster and all of the stepped faces light up together. Produces a bright red fluorescence under UV. Great example for the locale! Available from my personal collectionDimensions: 7.6 by 4.8 by 3.2 cm
