This antique tintype image is in used condition and does not have a paper sleeve. While in generally good condition, this image will show signs of age that may include degradation including scratches, surface grime or loss, lacquer alligatoring, dents, rumpling, bends and sharp edges that could lead to injury if not properly handled. There may also be remnants of glue visible on both the front and back sides of this item. Many of these attributes are not visible while looking at the image head on but are visible when held to light at an angle.
The posted images for all our tintype listings were taken under uniform lighting conditions at the same exposure - indirect bright sunlight as though you were standing outside with the sun at your back while holding the tintype within your shadow. The final images utilize 's image enhancement tool to optimize brightness / contrast to show fine details that may be difficult to see on a lighted screen. The in person eye view will be somewhere in-between.
