Original Activision "Chopper Commandos" patch from 1982.
This piece of gaming history was earned by high-scoring players of the classic Atari 2600 game *Chopper Command*, designed by Bob Whitehead. During the golden age of home console gaming, Activision offered these exclusive, embroidered patches to players who achieved a maximum score. To claim this badge, players had to capture a physical photograph of their television screen, develop the film, and mail the evidence to Activision headquarters.

Item: Authentic Activision "Chopper Commandos" patch.
Era: Early 1980s (1982).
Condition: Excellent vintage condition / Unused / Never ironed-on / Shows light fraying on one small edge consistent with age. Please refer to the 4 high-resolution photos for exact details.
Authenticity: The other 2 photos are of an old Polaroid from January 1983, where I took a picture of my tv screen; I no longer have the letter that Activision mailed to me ( along with the patch), but for some reason I actually kept several photos of the tv, including the one that shows I got 999,999 points to earn the patch. I was not planning to send the old Polaroid to the buyer, but if you really want it, I can send that, too, let me know.
Significance: A genuine artifact from the era that established the "designer-led" gaming industry and pioneered the high-score reward culture.
These patches are becoming increasingly difficult to find, especially in clean and unused condition. This is a must-have item for any dedicated Atari 2600 collector or Activision memorabilia enthusiast.
