No doubt when you receive this good you will enjoy it as much as others did in the ANTIQUE ANNE OF BRITANNYCOAT OF ARMS TIN DECOR TRAY 11\"
Good! - Circa 1880.Ideal gift for special occasions or collectors. Great design with salamander, flames & crown. It looks good, better than other pieces of same age (+140 years). It could be used as tray, decor also. Suitable for wall or furniture.
This is the coat of arms of Francis I of France (1494-1547), a great patron of the arts, and the salamander was his personal symbol or emblem, surrounded by flames.
The salamander often appeared in his art, architecture and royal palaces and was highly valued for its ability to resist annihilation by flames, which gave it talisman-like properties.
The coat of arms and crown of armory is a very popular emblem that has been used on many crafts and items in France from ancient times to the present day.
The plaque is beautifully decorated with irregular surfaces created by embossing and stamping techniques, and combined with the deep matte texture unique to pewter or antique pewter, it is a large and impressive item.
This is a masterpiece that will add a touch of elegance to an antique or prestigious room.
Because this is a vintage item, it may have minor scratches, stains, or some wear, but they do not detract from its great beauty.
Note: lost the little hook to hang it on the wall.
