COLLECTABLE VINTAGE 1940s/50s 4"W 2-Sided Miniaudiere, Original Powder Puff, Powder & Comb
1940s/50s Retro Art Deco Style Metal Basket Weave design2-Sided Miniaudiere can also be described as a wristlet, compartment compact purse, makeup/cigarette/money clip wristlet or a clutch purse.
Dimensions (approximate) 3 7/8" x 3" X 3/4"Although no brand mark was found, it appears to be a high end design.
Vintage 1940s/1950s 2-sided metal gold tone mini audiere with snake chain handle. This compartments include (side 1) a place for a comb (comb included, slips in/out of its holder), a lipstick holder (no lipstick included) and a powder compartment which is opened by pressing the side button. A mirror (intact) is also included.. Side 2 can hold cigarettes or be a money clip.As this miniaudiere comes with the original powder puff and some powder remaining in the compact area / well, I'm listing this item under collectibles. It is not recommended to use either the puff or the powder in this compartment although if you prefer and would like to use the miniaudiere, the puff can presumably be gently washed & dried and the powder removed and the well cleaned. Use care when opening the compact / well area with the puff (in as found condition) and the powder (display purposes only, not intended for actual use).
Item has release buttons on top for both sides with one side opening to a mirror, place for powder, comb and lipstick holder and the other side an elaborate holder for cigarettes or cash against a circular pattern background. Release buttons work well.
The compact has a top mesh gold tone snake chain style handle.
