This is NOT the "Arachnos Cape" that was made available to players through conventions, contests, and whatnot. Nope. Back in the day, I used to write for a bunch of video games websites and magazines. I had a deep love for all things CoH/CoV and managed to cultivate some great contacts inside NC Soft. Because of that, I received the real deal cape you see in these pictures. There can't be many of these floating around; in all the years since receiving it, I've only ever found one other image of it anywhere on the Interwebs (and it wasn't for sale).
While the "Arachnos Cape" was 100% polyester and dyed black with a bright red Arachnos symbol on the back, the one I have for sale is made of two different materials. The black outside might be polyester, but the inside has a red satin finish. It also has red piping along the edges and the words "City of Villains" running along the back of the popped collar in bright red stitching. It is MUCH larger, much heavier, and far more ornate then the "Arachnos Cape."It is in perfect condition. It has no rips or stains or smells (I've never smoked). What's more, I never wore it to any events or gatherings. It's been hanging in a closet (inside a Men's Warehouse clothes bag) for roughly two decades.
Given that I can't find any comps for this thing, and due to its rarity, I've put what I feel is an appropriate price on it. I'm not here to rip anyone off. I do my best to provide accurate and honest descriptions of every item. Everything for sale comes directly from my own personal collection. I don't have a "store," and I'm not buying/selling on the regular. Not that there's anything wrong with that! But after all these decades ... it's just time to clean out the padded playroom!
