Early antique chalkware:

This is an early example of Chalkware. Challware was inexpensive compared to European ceramics and porcelain. The early pieces copied the European style and subjects and are highly desirable. When I found this piece it had three eggs in the boat/container. The elderly lady who owned this piece explained that they were not original to the piece. I did notice that the eggs were very old. of perhaps wood with plaster coating and cracked and very much looked like they could've been part of the piece. Should you win this sale and want these three eggs, I will go back and see if they're still available,  I will list them separately. this piece measures 9" x 5" and 9 inches high. It weighs about 6 pounds
