Madden NFL 97 — Sony PlayStation 1 — FACTORY SEALED Black Label (SLUS-00018)

This is where the modern era of Madden starts. After a decade of proving itself on Genesis and SNES, the franchise made its PlayStation debut here — 32-bit, motion-captured, 31 stadiums rendered in 3D, Madden and Summerall calling the action with James Brown in the studio. EA Tiburon took the leap to polygons with this one and the series never looked back.

Still sealed. Original factory shrink with the PlayStation holographic security seal intact across the top edge and the PULL tab in place on the back. Original Black Label print, not a Greatest Hits reissue — the first-run release from August 1996.

Sealed PS1 sports titles are genuinely uncommon at this point. Nobody saved these. They got torn open on Christmas morning in 1996 and played until the disc had a swirl on it. This one didn't.

CONDITION — honest read:
Factory sealed, unopened, contents never handled. The shrink shows its age: light wrinkling and surface scuffing across the front, some slack in the film, and light shelf wear along the edges. The seal itself is unbroken and the hologram sticker is intact and undisturbed. Jewel case underneath appears sound with no visible cracks through the wrap.

Photographed front, back, both spine edges, and a close-up on the holographic seal specifically so you can evaluate the seal yourself before you buy. If you collect sealed, you know that's the photo that matters.

Not graded and not resealed. Sold as pictured, exactly as found.
