PC, 1995, BullfrogMagic Carpet Plus is the final evolution of the original Bullfrog game and includes the original Magic Carpet and the Magic Carpet Hidden Worlds Expansion Disk. All together, there are more than 75 levels, including twenty custom built multi-player levels, network support and real-time game play. The Hidden Worlds expansion package included a replacement spell for the original Wall of Fire called the Homing Meteor spell -- other than that, the game play is essentially identical between the two games, although a welcome save-anytime feature was introduced as well. Actual game play does not merge the two components but allows you an option screen to select which game you want to play at the beginning start up screen.The game features 3D real-time animation, comes with a set of 3D glasses (for wearing, not drinking), and features a unique but fairly simple interface that uses both mouse and keyboard for maneuvering and entering commands. With the combined package, you take the part of the apprentice magician whose only weapons consist of a Magic Carpet and two dozen spells to learn and use to help drive chaos out of this land of wizards and magic gone bad. Through acquisition of power-wielding mana, you eventually control all the spells needed to make the world a better place. In the Hidden Worlds expansion, you pick up right where you left off except this time you'll have to travel to secret territories where chaos and evil warlocks still reside.
