"Let me tell you a story to chill the bones...", yes I think they are the right words to introduce you to our new project ..TRIORA! and as for Enuma also for Triora the Iron Maiden always have the right inspirational words :) (I recommend you to listen Iron Maiden's Dance of Death while reading these words).You know us now after our firstEnuma project overfunded in 2019, we like our playing card projects to tell a story, and this story we are going to tell you really happened in Italy in the 16th century
This project will tell you what happened in Triora in the 16th century and why today it is called "THE LAND OF THE WITCHES". During that period in Triora there was the greatestWITCHCRAFT TRIALthat history can remember, many women died under the tortures of the inquisitors accused of having brought famines and being followers of the devil. Many people, especially American friends, know the events of SALEM, but what happened in Triora before the events of Salem is something tremendously wider and documented by the evidence of the trials kept in the archives.
You will have the opportunity to read and know the whole history of Triora in this campaign, (you will discover everything about the triora witches congregation, about the characters, the places, their healing tools but also about their terrible poisons) by add to your pledgesthe bookthat Claude write in the past months after numerous visits to Triora that we will illustrate later...now we want to talk about the two decks:
we create 2 different decks which take their names from two terrible poisons used by the witches of Triora,ATROPA BELLADONNA & DATURA STRAMONIUM.
ATROPA BELLADONNA FANDATURA STRAMONIUM FAN
In Atropa Belladonna deck, the characters and the places are represented normally, in the pips is present an Atropa Belladonna plant, in the Datura Stramonium deck the presence of the devil influences all the characters and places represented, the Witches are revealed, the Inquisitors and judges are under threat from the devil, the places completely change their climate with the presence of witches, in the pips is present a Datura Stramonium Plant.
Sabbath is certainly an important event for witches, in Sabbath Witches dance with the devil, perform rites and sacrifices in his honor, mate with each other and feast on the remains of their victims. In the backs of Triora decks we wanted to represent this moment, inspired by old engravings of the XVI century. In addition to the Sabbath, other important elements are represented, the lunar calendar of the Witches, with the names of the celebrations related to nature, which still take place today in Triora. The frame, on the other hand, is a faithful reproduction of a painting on an old building in Triora where the demon is represented in the center, (you can see my photo below, which I took when I decide to insert it in the back of the cards)

Representing all these elements really engaged us beyond all expectations, we wanted at all costs to represent everything you see here even if the space seemed to get smaller and smaller but I let you evaluate the result! To further enhance this incredible meticulous work we decided to print all these elements of the Sabbath inGOLD HOTFOIL!...you got it right GOLD FOIL IN THE BACK OF THE CARDS!!:)

The tuckboxes of the decks will be printed with elements inEMBOSSING & GOLD HOTFOIL. As you see, the layout of tuckboxes include in the frontthe simbol of Triora CERBERUS, with the phrase that welcomes all Triora's visitors ,"SU REGALE TRONO TRIORA GIACE VI TROVA IL FORESTIER SALUTE E PACE" (on royal throne Triora's placed the stranger find Health & Peace )and which is located at the entrance (as you can see in the photo below). Always in the center of the front tuckboxes you can find the coordinates to reach Triora, in the back represented as usual in Nemesis , the backs of the cards, because we trust a person must see one first one of the most important element in the project..the backs of the cards. On the top we have insert a name of the deck in the Theban Alphabet (The Witches Alphabet), all this elements will be printed in Gold Hotfoil, in the backs will be printed in foil the same elements of the backs of the cards.

The Pips of both decks were made by inserting the plant (belladonna & stramonium) inside the pips, giving the idea of a seal
