Up for sale is a beautiful piece of mid-century sewing history: a vintage Singer Skirt Marker complete with its original graphic cardboard box. Designed as a clever dressmaking helper, this tool allowed creators to mark their own hemlines easily without needing a second person.
The box features its original green end panels clearly stamped with the official Singer Sewing Machines oval trademark logo and \'Patent U.S.A. No. 1,853,280\'.\" April, 1934. The patent specifically covers the spray/atomizer mechanism used to mark fabric. Instead of manually using pins, this design utilizes an adjustable marker attached to a ruler (NOT included). When you squeezed the rubber bulb, air forced chalk dust out of a narrow silt directly onto the garment at the exact measured height.
The tin still contains its original vintage chalk powder inside! Please note: Due to age, the vintage chalk may have clumped or hardened over time and is sold as a historical collectible rather than for immediate functional use.
The Chalk Chamber: The red metal chalk reservoir is in great cosmetic shape, featuring the classic gold script \"Singer Skirt Marker\" logo on the front. Original Chalk Included. Also included is the Rubber Hose and Squeeze Bulb Attachment.
