The Thoro-Flare was designed as a portable battery operated emergency warning beacon and highway safety light used during the 1940s and 1950s.Manufactured by Emarco Corporation - Dayton, Ohio USAPurpose and Uses
  • Roadside Safety: Motorists and police officers used the Thoro-Flare to mark stalled vehicles, accidents, or blocked roads.
  • Railroad Operations: Railroad workers relied on the Thoro-Flare to signal warnings along tracks or around work zones.

The Neon flashing bulb appears to be undamaged.
The red "beehive" style Fresnel glass globe has no chips or cracks.
The battery compartment is clean with no signs of battery corrosion.
The paint is starting to flake off. There is also some very minor surface corrosion present.Unfortunately the prices of shipping supplies and USPS shipping costs have become ridiculous! Also, charges me a 13.6% sellers fee on the shipping cost, purchase price, taxes paid by the buyer plus a $0.40 final value fee...smh 😡
