Rare Vintage 1963 National Distillers / NLBA 14th Annual Convention Binder & Promotional KitUp for sale is a remarkably preserved, highly unique piece of American hospitality and spirits history: an original 1963 National Licensed Beverage Association (NLBA) Convention binder and promotional kit, custom-produced as an exclusive corporate giveaway by the legendary National Distillers Products Company.Distributed directly to independent tavern owners, bar managers, and liquor retailers, this kit served as a piece of brand marketing and an industry rally-cry to foster unity against post-Prohibition taxes and regulations.Historical Context & Background:
The Corporate Patron: National Distillers was one of the "Big Four" distilling giants of mid-century America, famous for its iconic "Old" whiskey portfolio (Old Grand-Dad, Old Taylor, Old Crow, and Old Overholt).
The Industry Executive: The introductory letters and internal components feature the photo and signature block of B.C. Ohlandt (Beverly C. Ohlandt), the legendary Executive Vice President and General Manager of National Distillers.
The Event: This kit outlines the details of the NLBA 14th Annual Convention held at the historic Conrad Hilton Hotel in Chicago, Illinois, from November 3–6, 1963. It offers a fascinating look at mid-century pricing (e.g., convention entry for $35, hotel rooms for $10/night).What’s Included Inside This Binder:
This multi-page collection features vibrant, stylized mid-century typography and striking political-style illustrations advocating for trade unity. Key pages include:

"The Fable of the Seven Sticks... and You!" – An illustrated industry fable stressing the power of collective bargaining and defense against anti-liquor legislation.
"Let's Put the YOU in UNITY!" & "You Can't Fight City Hall... Alone!" – Dynamic graphic pages urging small bar owners to join local associations.
"Tools of the Trade" – A vintage tie-in advertisement featuring a classic mid-century Coca-Cola bottle and glass mixer layout ("Things go better with Coke").
