Up for sale is a beautiful vintage mid-century 1960s Italian souvenir keychain featuring a religious medallion of the Madonna and Child (Maria S.S. di Siracusa / di Trapani) on one side and the historic medieval town of Lagonegro in the Basilicata region of southern Italy on the other side.
Excellent vintage condition. The original brown leather miniature belt strap is remarkably soft and pliable—not brittle or cracked.
The chrome-plated horseshoe split ring is bright, and the patented mechanism works perfectly, marked "BREV. MADE IN ITALY". The clear, star-shaped acrylic bubble casing is clean and holds the graphic beautifully. A wonderful addition to any collection of religious artifacts or vintage Italian novelty hardware.
