This is a large porcelain platter/charger manufactured most likely during the mid to late 20th century. It features a striking Imari inspired or polychrome palette densely filled with detailed Chrysanthemums and Peonies in layers of rust-red, golden yellow, and cobalt blue. Platters of this nature were frequently exported from Japan for decorative use. The backstamp features a crowned lion facing left within a circular garter flanked by floral sprays. This mark is commonly referred to as a "Fantasy Mark". It mimics historic European porcelain. This mark is typical of vintage decorative transferware plates made in Japan or China intended for the export giftware market. Ready to hang in your home as a beautiful wall accessory.It measures 14.5" in diameter.
