Vintage MCM 1960’s RARE Couroc of Monterey Hand Inlaid Cedar Waxwings on Branch:

Vintage MCM decorative barware was made by Couroc of Monterey in Monterey Ca. Created to be scratch, moisture, alcohol and cigarette burn resistant. They are made of a satin black phenolic high pressure laminate resin infused surface with wood, shell and metal inlay. Hand inlaid by master craftsmen. The designs were various subjects with birds being one of the most popular. I have never seen the Cedar Waxwings and so I am referring to it as rare and because its a bird, desirable. This is a rectangular shape with curved edges. It is 18\" long and 12 1/2\" wide. It weighs 2 1/2 lb. It has four round resting feet and the foil label from the company intact though peeling on the reverse. There are some scratches and smudges but nothing that would interfere with the enjoyment of the piece. It is a wonderful addition to the Couroc or tray collector.
