This is the highly sought after beautiful fiddle/guitar-shaped silhouette designed under Design Patent No. 107353 (originally granted in 1937).
NOTE TO : This bottle is completely EMPTY. It contains absolutely no alcohol or liquid contents of any kind. It is being sold strictly as a vintage glass collectible, completely compliant with all policies.
Why this Particular Bottle is an Absolute Grail for Collectors:
-PRISTINE FRONT AND BACK LABELS: Finding paper labels from the early 1940’s in this condition is incredibly rare. Both the front “Bard’s Town Bond” Label and the back storytelling label are entirely intact, completely legible, and free of major tears or moisture damage. The back label beautifully highlights the history of the Bardstown Distillery and the iconic Stephen Foster song, “My Old Kentucky Home”. It also still has most of its green United States 100 Proof tax stamp.
-ULTRA-RARE BRANDED CLOSURE: Most of these bottles found today are completely missing their tops. This example features the original, pristine black cap with deeply embossed text reading: “Bard’s Town - Where Stephen Foster Wrote My Old Kentucky Home.” The original cork understructure is intact.
-VERIFIED 1941 ORIGIN: The bottom of the bottle features crisp, embossed markings from the OWENS-ILLINOIS GLASS COMPANY. It displays the plant code “65”, the date code “41” (confirming 1941 manufacturing), the distiller code “D-202”, and the iconic diamond-oval manufacturer trademark.
-HISTORIC EMBOSSING: The upper back shoulders of the amber glass cleanly reads “FEDERAL LAW FORofferS SALE OR REUSE OF THIS BOTTLE,” true to the post-Prohibition era.
CONDITION NOTES: This item is in magnificent vintage condition. The glass is clear and bright with no chips, cracks or fleabites. The paper labels, front and back, retain excellent Color with minimal age-toning. *THE BACK LABEL HAS ONE MINIMAL SPOT AT THE BOTTOM OF LABEL THAT HAS BEEN SCUFFED, 99% of the label is still very legible and is 100% complete.* THE FRONT LABEL IS 100% complete AND HAS ONE VERY MINOR WEAR SPOT ON THE “N” of bourbon but is still 100% legible…. PLEASE LOOK AT THE PHOTOS TO CONFIRM CONDITION.
*THE ONLY LABELS THAT HAVE LOST ANY PORTION OF THE LABEL ARE THE “BOTTLED IN BOND UNDER U.S. GOVERNMENT SUPERVISION” AND THE VERY BOTTOM OF THE TRIANGULAR “OLD FASHIONED SOUR MASH”, BOTH ON THE FRONT OF THE BOTTLE BUT BOTH 100% LEGIBLE.
