Vtg 1961 Sport King Coaches Pickup Truck Camper Flyer Letter Promo Mailer Lot:
$34.99

This is a original 1960โ€“1961 vintage direct-mail inquiry grouping from Sport King Coaches, Inc. (Torrance, CA & Nampa, ID) consisting of four distinct pieces.
Included in lot:Envelope: Postmarked April 7, 1961 from Nampa, Idaho, addressed to recipient in Greenbrier, Tennessee, with a 4ยข Lincoln stamp.
Cover Letter: Dated April 7, 1961, typed on official company letterhead and hand-signed by Don Schmillen, Manager, citing pricing ($1,095 base) and enclosing product details.
Separate Article Reprint: Standalone single-sheet reprint of the February 1960 Trailer Life article, "Testing: Sport King Camper" by Robert Behme.
Fold-out Sales Brochure: Multi-page brochure featuring floor plans, options list, specifications, and factory location map for Torrance and Nampa facilities.
The promotional materials prominently feature American light-duty pickup trucks from the late 1950s and early 1960s, which were the quintessential "workhorse" platforms used for the emerging slide-in camper craze of that era.
Primary Featured Trucks:1957โ€“1960 Ford F-Series (3rd Generation): The blue-tinted photographic cover insert on the brochure and map panel explicitly displays a 1957โ€“1960 Ford F-100/F-250 Styleside pickup. You can identify it by its wide, flat clamshell hood, dual headlights, and integrated front grille layout typical of Ford's late-50s redesign.
1961 Ford F-Series (4th Generation): On the main article reprint ("Testing: Sport King Camper"), the large top header photo displays a newly introduced 1961 Ford F-Series Styleside pickup wearing the 10-foot Sport King C-2 coach model.
Other Notable Vehicles in the Graphics:Early 1950s Chevrolet / GMC Pickups: The interior pages and technical diagrams show stylized line drawings of 1950s-era round-fender and step-side pickups (such as the Chevy Advance-Design or Task Force series) illustrating how the cab-over camper body fits onto a standard truck bed.
Chassis & Bed Specs: The brochure emphasizes that Sport King coaches were engineered to fit standard 8-foot, 9-foot, and 10-foot pickup beds across major domestic manufacturers of the era (Ford, Chevrolet, GMC, Dodge, and International Harvester). They also highlight "chassis-cab" mounting options where the camper body attaches directly to a flat truck frame rather than sitting inside a standard pickup bed.
Condition:Letter, Brochure & Article Reprint: Very Good (VG). Clean paper, bold printing, sharp graphics, original fold lines, and minimal edge wear with light, uniform age-toning.
Envelope: Good (G). Prominent diagonal moisture/water staining across the reverse flap seams, a torn right end from opening, and minor edge wear. Postmark and postage stamp remain fully intact and legible.
