Australian army commando (Fairbairn and Sykes) dagger with leather sheath - UK made by J. Nowill of Sheffield - 2nd pattern.
The knife is 29cm long and has the protective blackened metal fittings, hatched hand grip and flat oval guard which has the makers details and broad arrow. Hand finished blade, which is the double sided type, no dents to tip or edges being 18 cm long,retaining maker name and Ministry of Defence issue stamp to the guard.
Dagger fits well into the black leather sheath which has the old fashioned trouser stitch tabs and elastic strap for holding the grip in place.
This is new old stock from the last 10 years, with the knife in the grease proof paper. These have all come from a local knife dealer.
