Nickel-Plated Match Safe / Vesta Case — St. Louis, Missouri
Offered here is a scarce antique 1886 Knights Templar 23rd Conclave match safe / vesta case advertising Anheuser-Busch of St. Louis, Missouri. This early fraternal and breweriana souvenir was made for the 23rd Triennial Conclave of the Knights Templar, held in St. Louis in 1886, making it a highly collectible crossover piece for Masonic, Knights Templar, pre-Prohibition breweriana, Anheuser-Busch, and match safe collectors.
The case is nickel plated with detailed period decoration and advertising. It features a working hinged body, closes well, and displays beautifully as a late 19th-century fraternal souvenir. Pieces like this are desirable because they combine several strong collecting categories: Anheuser-Busch advertising, St. Louis history, Knights Templar / Masonic fraternal history, and antique match safes.
