Offered here is a truly exceptional piece of American whiskey history: an authentic autograph of Edmund Haynes Taylor, Jr., signed on original E.H. Taylor & Sons Distillery letterhead.
Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. is one of the most important figures in the history of bourbon. A pioneering distiller and tireless advocate for quality, Taylor was instrumental in shaping modern American whiskey. He built and operated legendary distilleries including O.F.C., Old Taylor, and what is now Buffalo Trace, introducing innovations such as climate-controlled warehouses and strict production standards. Most notably, his lobbying efforts directly led to the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897, the first consumer protection law in U.S. food and beverage history—forever changing how bourbon was produced, labeled, and trusted.
This autograph is especially significant because it appears on official distillery letterhead, directly tying Taylor’s signature to his business operations during bourbon’s golden age. It represents far more than a signature—it is a tangible connection to the man who helped legitimize and preserve American whiskey.

Antique used condition. General wear overall expected with age. Wear apparent to the corners and edges. Autograph is authenticated by PSA. You will receive in this bundle the original 1888 E.H. Taylor Jr. & Sons Distilleries Letterhead signed by E.H. Taylor himself in his unique hand, PSA Letter of Authentication, as well as a printout of an email from the Buffalo Trace Archives Team who, previous to PSA Auth, also stated that the signature is likely authentic (they only saw images and do not provide letters of authenticity.) This signed letter is only page 2 of a two-page letter. I, unfortunately, do not have the 1st page. See photos for details regarding condition and please send any questions you may have my way!
