I’m offering a vintage string-tied pictorial campus booklet for North Carolina College for Women at Greensboro. The booklet is filled with sepia campus views and interior scenes, including the gymnasium, swimming pool, Charles B. Aycock Auditorium, residence section, campus approaches, and other college buildings and grounds. The interior title reads A Pictorial Review To acquaint the people of North Carolina more fully with their College for Women at Greensboro. What makes this copy stand out is the inside page carries a handwritten ownership inscription for Mozelle R. Finch, Route #1, Bailey, NC, along with the note that she was a student at NCCW in Greensboro from Sept. 1930 to May 1931. The name “North Carolina College for Women” was used until 1931, when the school entered the University of North Carolina system and became the Woman’s College of the University of North Carolina, later the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. That timeframe lines up perfectly with the student inscription and places this booklet right at the end of the NCCW era. That gives this piece real period connection and strong local North Carolina interest.
Condition is worn but still very displayable and collectible. Covers show heavy age wear, edge wear, staining, creasing, and corner wear. Interior pages show foxing, toning, creasing, and handling wear. One interior page has a torn upper corner. String-tied binding is present and the booklet remains together. Honest survivor copy with strong visual appeal for college history, Greensboro material, and North Carolina ephemera collectors.
