This is a great period snapshot of Block Island just before the 1988 summer season, filled with local news, advertisements, restaurants, hotels, transportation information and visitor material. The Block Island Times was founded in 1970, and 1988 was also the year it transitioned into a year-round weekly newspaper.

Condition
Fair vintage condition with considerable age-related wear, toning, staining, creasing, edge wear, tears and other handling damage throughout. A small section has been cut from page 5, which also affects page 6. Pages 21/22 have substantial loss with at least approximately half of the page missing. There are stamps, an address label and some handwritten markings on the front. Despite the damage, the majority of the newspaper remains intact, readable and filled with interesting period advertisements and local information. Please review all photos carefully for exact condition and completeness.
