Data East, and Sega/Stern Whitestar boards had the 6264 RAM chip in an IC socket, so removal and replacement is easy, with no soldering required!
Bally/Williams games shipped from the factory theirRAM chip soldered directly to the board. Some WPC machines have 62256 RAM chips installed instead of 6264 RAM chips. The 6264 NVRAM can be used to replace the 62256 with some jumper settings changed.
