Rare Antique Swedish Royal Family Miniature "Accordion" Photo Mini Book Locket Charm
(c. 1905-1907)
An exceptionally rare and beautifully preserved Edwardian-era Swedish souvenir miniature book locket/charm, featuring an intact 10-panel accordion photographic strip of the Swedish Royal Family. One side of the cover features an elegant Art Nouveau relief design reading "Kungl. Familjen" (The Royal Family), marking it as a premium turn-of-the-century souvenir from Stockholm’s world-famous open-air museum.
Exact Date Context (1905–1907): This piece can be definitively dated between June 1905 and December 1907. It includes Princess Margaret of Connaught (Prinsessan Margareta), who married into the family in mid-1905, and was produced before the death of King Oscar II in late 1907.The 10 Panels Include Intact Photographic Portraits of:1. Konung Oscar II (King Oscar II)
2. Drottning Sofia (Queen Sophia)
3. Kronprins Gustaf (Crown Prince Gustaf / future Gustaf V)
4. Kronprinsessan Victoria (Crown Princess Victoria)
5. Prinsessan Margareta (Princess Margaret of Connaught)
6. Prins Gustaf Adolf (Prince Gustaf Adolf / future Gustaf VI Adolf)
7. Prins Carl (Prince Carl, Duke of Västergötland)
8. Prinsessan Ingeborg (Princess Ingeborg of Denmark)
9. Hertiginnan af Dalarne (Princess Teresia, Duchess of Dalarna)
10. Prins Eugen (Prince Eugen, Duke of Närke)Excellent antique condition. The external metal case closes tightly and the hinge is in fully functional, working order. Crucially, the internal paper accordion strip is completely intact, unseparated, and has no major tears or water damage—a highly uncommon level of preservation for paper items of this age. Metal is unhallmarked, likely a silver-plated or base-metal alloy typical of tourist novelties from this period. Features a top loop ready to be worn as a charm, pendant, or chatelaine piece.
Case size is 1-1/8" x 1"
