Complete 6-page Archie original comic art story "Missing Link" by Joe Edwards, drawn for Archie and Me #41 (Archie Comics, April 1971). Ink over graphite on Bristol board, each page approximately 10" x 15" image area on 11" x 17" art board.
WHAT IT ISA full 6-page Archie story in original hand-drawn form — penciled and inked by Joe Edwards for publication in Archie and Me #41, cover-dated April 1971. The handwritten notation "Archie & Me #41 April" at the top of each page confirms the issue and production use. This is the actual artwork sent to the printer — a complete sequential story, all six pages together.
ARTISTJoe Edwards (1921–2007) was a longtime Archie Comics staff artist who worked at the company for roughly 50 years, from the 1940s through the 1990s. He is best known as the creator of Li'l Jinx, who debuted in Pep Comics #62 in July 1947. Edwards also drew countless mainline Archie, Jughead, Veronica, and Reggie stories throughout his career and was a member of the Berndt Toast Gang, the Long Island chapter of the National Cartoonists Society.
CONDITIONUsed — clean lines and intact panels throughout. Light yellowing/toning consistent with 50+ year old production art. Minor stain visible in the first panel of page 1. Light handling marks along page edges. Pages are structurally sound — no major tears, folds, or creases. Period-standard production marks may be present (paste-up corrections, marginal editorial notes, blue pencil) — these are normal for original comic book art of this era and do not affect collector value. See photos for full condition documentation.
PROVENANCEAcquired directly from Joe Edwards in the 1990s when he was downsizing his personal archive prior to relocating to Florida. Authenticated by two original production stamps on the back: the Archie Enterprises copyright stamp and a Comics Code Authority approval stamp dated NOV 23 1970 — confirming this is genuine pre-publication production art reviewed and approved for the April 1971 issue. See photos.
