CIA Commemorative 9/11/01 Coin Honor • Duty • Sacrifice | Cast of a Few | Courage of a Nation
A heavy, high-relief commemorative honoring the CIA officers who were the first Americans into Afghanistan after 9/11 — the "cast of a few" who went in by helicopter in the fall of 2001. The coin is built around the Mi-17 helicopter marked 91101 — 9/11/01 — shown at rest on the obverse and at night in the mountains on the reverse.
Obverse (antique bronze): the helicopter in profile under the words HONOR • DUTY • SACRIFICE, with 91101 across the field and DEFENDING FREEDOM along the bottom rim.
Reverse (blue-black enamel): a night scene under the stars — the team moving around the helicopter in rocky mountain terrain — ringed by CAST OF A FEW and COURAGE OF A NATION.
The coin you receive is brand new and preserved in a clear protective capsule, exactly as photographed. See the last gallery image for the optional Phantom Coin Holder upgrade, available in our store.
