Made by Fukagawa Seiji Porcelain Company, of Arita Japan, this Cobalt Blue Porcelain Flower Vase features a large white peony, softly shaded in gradations of blue, with fine gold hand painted lines accenting the leaves and stamens. The elegant rounded shoulders and narrow foot give it a classic Japanese silhouette.
The vase bears the blue underglaze mark used by Fukagawa Seiji from 1900 to 1920. The company exported porcelain to Europe and America that was highly prized and remains popular with collectors to this day.
The vase measures approximately 9.5\" tall x 7\" in diameter x 4\" across the opening. It is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips or scratching noted. Some wear noted to the foot of the base consistent with age and use.
