This woodblock print depicts Utagawa Hiroshige's famous "Night Snow at Kambara," the 16th station from the celebrated series "The Fifty-three Stations of the Tokaido." The scene captures a quiet village under heavy snowfall, masterfully utilizing a monochromatic palette with subtle blues to evoke a serene winter atmosphere. Hiroshige (1797-1858) was a master of the Ukiyo-e genre, and this work highlights his ability to convey mood and environmental conditions through graphic composition.
