Vintage Maitland-Smith decorative lidded bowl / box featuring a detailed tropical jungle design with hand-painted monkeys, foliage, fruit and rich gold-tone accents.
The scalloped form has a removable fitted lid topped with an ornate finial. Monkey scenes decorate the lid, while tropical leaves and decorative motifs continue around the body. The raised footed base and dark edging give it a substantial, highly decorative look.
