Pepsi KONA COFFEE COLA soda can 1996 test flavor / limited production For Sale

The short lived production life of the PEPSI Kona coffee flavor soda makes this a more recent rarity (30 years!). This first coffee/cola soda mix was test marketed in the Philadelphia area and later in the New England area in 1996. Hilarious commercials including one with Tom Jones singing “It’s not unusual” while sipping a Pepsi Kona and later 15 second traders including one with “Grab life by the Kona’s” insued. The drink was inspired by Pepsi’s close relationship with Starbucks and was rumored to be made using part Starbucks coffee. None of this marketing genius overcame the fact that people just didn’t like the soda. This didn’t stop Coke from coming out with a knockoff with the next year (which was even shorter lived). This is an AMAZING design and is in unusually great condition for an aluminum can, as you can see from the high res photos attached. The desirability of this can is enhanced by the scarcity of this test can due to low production, oddity and conversations that it should create.
