Miss Dolly History

Material & Construction: Fully carved wood body with spring-jointed articulation (shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees) designed to hold active poses.

Model Number: Designated as model #316 in the Schoenhut catalog.

Facial Characteristics: Unlike earlier realistic Schoenhut character children, Miss Dolly featured a round face, low-set cheeks, a short upturned nose, and a closed mouth showing four painted upper teeth.

Eyes: Early models from 1915 to roughly 1918 featured hand-painted blue or brown eyes with a glossy varnish finish to mimic German glass eyes (decals replaced paint around 1920).
