This is the original factory service manual for Atari's 1979 Superman pinball machine — the full-color edition, with licensed DC comic artwork wrapping both covers: Superman, Clark Kent, Lex Luthor, Lois Lane, and the Daily Planet, printed by Atari under DC license and so noted on the back cover.
These manuals were factory shop documents — distributed to operators with punch holes, handled on workbenches, and discarded when machines were retired. Under CGC's published standards for shop-format paper, high grades are structurally scarce: a 6.0 with white pages on a factory operator document from 1978 is a high-grade survivor.
Atari's Superman was the company's flagship licensed pinball release, produced at the height of Superman: The Movie's 1978 theatrical run — a crossover artifact of DC publishing history, pinball history, and Atari's golden age.
