“THE STARGATE SPHERE”
OJUELOS DE JALISCO RESEARCH COLLECTION
Presented here is one of the most unusual spherical objects within the greater Ojuelos de Jalisco mystery.
This carved stone sphere is approximately the size of a baseball and weighs about 1.11 pounds.
Its entire curved surface is engraved as one continuous celestial composition, making the sphere itself feel almost like a miniature planet carrying a map across its surface.
THE WINGED BEING
At the center of the composition is an elongated humanoid figure shown with its head turned in profile.
Its wings extend dramatically to both sides in a pose visually reminiscent of ancient winged-deity imagery such as Isis, although no direct cultural identification is being claimed.
Its legs are bent beneath the body in a powerful ceremonial posture.
What makes the scene especially remarkable is what each extended wing appears to interact with.
SPIRAL GALAXY / POSSIBLE PORTAL
On one side, the figure reaches toward a large engraved spiral.
At the center of this spiral is a purple amethyst-like inlay.
Moving outward along the spiral are several additional stone or mineral inlays, creating what visually resembles a sequence of planets or celestial bodies traveling outward from a central point.
Several appear to have originally been beads, with visible perforations passing through them.
The inlays vary considerably in appearance and may include materials resembling:
Amethyst
Dark tektite-like stone
Black mineral material
Iridescent or oxidized dark material
Blue sodalite-like material
The blue inlay showed an orange-toned reaction under ultraviolet light during my personal examination. This is interesting because some sodalite-group material can display unusual fluorescence, although the material has not been laboratory identified.
The overall spiral can be interpreted as a galaxy, vortex, portal, or celestial pathway.
UFO & PLANETARY ALIGNMENT
On the opposite side is a clearly disc-shaped engraved form that visually resembles a UFO or celestial craft.
Surrounding this form are additional spherical inlays positioned like planets.
One larger green stone is set within a circular planetary design, almost like a central coordinate, core, or focal point.
Other inlays surrounding the craft differ in color and material, suggesting that the artist may have intentionally represented separate celestial bodies.
Across the complete sphere there are approximately 10 major inlays.
Nine can be interpreted as planetary or celestial markers.
The tenth occupies the center of the engraved eye.
THE EYE AS PORTAL
Below the craft is a large engraved eye.
The iris or pupil contains a blue-green inlay resembling reconstructed turquoise, turquoise-colored howlite, or another composite mineral material.
The repeated relationship between eyes, celestial objects, portals, and geometric gateways is one of the themes that makes the broader Ojuelos material so intriguing.
One interpretation is that the eye may symbolize perception, consciousness, initiation, or passage between different states or realms.
Within a more esoteric interpretation, the eye itself could represent the observer as the gateway through which reality is perceived.
That interpretation remains philosophical and symbolic rather than an established archaeological translation.
A THREE-DIMENSIONAL CELESTIAL MAP?
Because this imagery has been engraved across a sphere rather than a flat tablet, the object invites another possibility:
Could the entire artifact have been designed as a three-dimensional cosmological or navigational diagram?
One hemisphere presents the spiral.
Another presents a craft surrounded by planetary markers.
Between them stands the winged figure.
Below is the eye.
Rather than simply depicting a single scene, the sphere could symbolically describe movement between locations, dimensions, celestial bodies, or states of consciousness.
MATERIAL & CONDITION
The sphere displays extensive age-like surface wear, engraving, cracking, patina, mineral deposits, and numerous inset stones.
All major inlays currently remain attached, but this is a fragile research object and should always be handled carefully.
Some inlays appear to be repurposed drilled beads, which raises important questions regarding when various components were installed. The precise age of the stone, engraving, and individual inlays has not been scientifically established.
THE GREATER OJUELOS MYSTERY
The Ojuelos phenomenon contains recurring imagery involving elongated beings, winged figures, celestial objects, unusual craft, planets, eyes, portals, geometric systems, and unidentified glyphic symbolism.
This sphere brings many of those themes together on a single three-dimensional object.
