An UNUSED NAUTICAL MARLINSPIKE. These tools were used to assist in the splicing of rope or cable or the making of order out of knots in these materials. This unused ten-inch length example was found in a warehouse of World War II military surplus items. It is identical in form to marlinspikes produced by C. Drew & Company of Kingston, Massachusetts and was likely produced by them for the U.S. Navy as part of the war effort. The tool has some dark stains from light oxidation whil in storage, but it remains in perfect working condition and could be put directly to use. Length = 10.00 Inches (Ref.
