***This stunning quilt is in good used condition, showing some signs of wear. It offers a pretty palette of deep rich burgundy / maroon and champagne colors. It was designed in a traditional alternating checkerboard patchwork pattern that can be used with many different styles like eclectic boho, Hollywood regency, etc, depending on your style.
***The crushed velvet squares are super plush and soft. The filler appears to be down based on the feathers poking through the fabric, as seen in the pictures. The backing appears to be a sort of cotton blend. It is definitely a substantial well made quilt / blanket.
***It was placed on a queen size bed and measures approximately 75” X 90”. From top to bottom, it fits great. If you opt to use it on a queen, it will need an under blanket.
***Wear Info: Overall, this quilt is in really good shape, in my opinion! The top looks really amazing. There is some normal wear around some of the squares where the velvet has some pile loss, or balding, as seen in the pictures.
When I picked this up, I noticed areas on the champagne squares that look like some of the burgundy dye has receded into it. I think this happened because my neighbor had it in a garbage bag, left outside in the rain for days,
because they were going to have it thrown in a landfill on garbage day. I was so excited to find it because it is really beautiful, well made, and it makes me happy to save good stuff that is still usable from landfills! The areas where the champagne has a slight burgundy undertone are not that noticeable.
***I laundered it in cold water with a sensitive detergent and dried it on a very low heat cycle, for a few minutes, and then I air dried it. There are no musty, or smoke odors. Also, I did not see any holes or rips in it. There are some normal loose strings around the stitching of the squares, etc. The binding looks great. There are the little fuzzies (pilling) on the back of it.
