Vintage lot of 2 Americus Restaurant match wallets from the Sheraton Washington Hotel in Washington, D.C.
Americus was the Sheraton Washington\'s upscale American restaurant at 2660 Woodley Road NW and operated there from the early 1980s into the 1990s. The Sheraton Washington name was discontinued in 1998 when the property became the Marriott Wardman Park, dating these pieces to approximately 1980-1998.
Both feature glossy deep burgundy outer sleeves with silver Americus restaurant graphics. The cream inner match packets are marked Sheraton Washington Hotel, 202/328-2000, and Admatch Corp., New York - Product of Japan.
One packet retains substantially more matches than the other. Remaining matches appear unstruck. Both pieces show normal vintage handling and storage wear, including light edge and corner wear, surface scuffing to the glossy burgundy covers, and minor wear to the cream inserts.
