Vintage 2-blade jack pen knife manufactured by Boker USA at their Maplewood, New Jersey factory. This traditional folding pattern is stamped with the official model/pattern code 35188 alongside the iconic Boker Tree Brand logo on the secondary blade tang. The master clip blade features a clean "BOKER / USA" stamp at its base. Based on the stamping profiles and assembly styles, this classic everyday carry pocket tool was manufactured between 1945 and 1983.
The knife features reddish-brown jigged composite Delrin handle scales patterned to replicate traditional stag bone, accented with an inlaid nickel silver round Boker Tree medallion shield on the display side. Based on the official Boker 35188 design specifications, the handle measures approximately 3 3/8 inches in closed length. It houses two folding carbon steel tools: a master clip point blade measuring approximately 2 3/4 inches and a secondary pen blade measuring 1 7/8 inches.
The item is in solid, highly functional shape. The dark reddish-brown jigged scales are beautifully preserved, flush-fit, and entirely free of cracks, chips, or structural fractures. Both high-carbon steel blades display an honest, uniform gray age patina with generalized surface pocket-wear staining and minor pitting, carrying a historic look from years of period use rather than modern neglect. The blades maintain thick profiles from conservative historical sharpening. The brass liners, pins, and nickel silver bolsters remain tightly integrated. Both folding mechanisms offer a tight, solid tension along the backspring with excellent, snappy walk-and-talk and a good, sharp snap upon closing.
