🎨 Design & Visual Attributes
Iconic Stance: Chairman Mao is depicted in his most legendary propaganda posture—standing resolute in his signature long green overcoat, his right hand raised in a benevolent, waving gesture to the masses.
Details: In his left hand, he holds his classic cap, which features a crisp, hand-painted red star.
Glaze: The overcoat boasts a beautifully applied, high-gloss green glaze with exceptional color uniformity and a deep, reflective luster.
Portraiture: In striking contrast to the glazed coat, the face, hair, and hands feature detailed, matte hand-painted elements, perfectly capturing the classic idealized imagery of the era.
Base: The figure stands securely on an integrated, heavy rectangular porcelain base finished in a contrasting rich brown tone.
📊 Condition & Craftsmanship Report
This statue has been remarkably well-preserved over the decades and shows beautifully.
Structural Integrity: Excellent vintage condition. There are absolutely NO chips, NO cracks, NO hairline fractures, and NO signs of any professional or amateur restoration.
Surface Condition: The glaze remains bright, vibrant, and entirely free of heavy scuffing or color loss. The hand-painted facial features, rosy cheeks, and red star details are incredibly crisp.
Underside: The bottom of the base features an unglazed white bisque ceramic finish with three recessed wells—completely consistent with authentic mid-century state-factory production molds. It shows natural, age-appropriate shelf wear and light soil from decades of display, proving its vintage origin.
Dimensions: Standing at an impressive approximately 11 to 11.5 inches tall, it fits perfectly on a standard bookshelf, mantle, or curio cabinet display.
