CONDITION
Vintage preowned condition with age appropriate wear. Beautiful old oak grain and finish with scratches, marks, finish wear and other blemishes from many years of use. Leather carrying handle remains present but shows wear and deterioration near the mounting points.
The original lock has a broken key piece lodged inside and is not presently usable as a normal keyed lock. A brass latch was added next to the lock at some point to help secure the removable front panel.
There is some minor wood loss and chipping along the upper front edge above the lock area. The front panel can fit tightly and may need to be gently encouraged when removing it. This appears to account for some of the wear in that area.

DESCRIPTION
Beautiful vintage oak pistol shooting range box with wonderful old wood grain, rich color and lots of character.
This is an unusual early style shooting box that has the appearance and construction of an old machinist or tool chest while being fitted inside for pistol range use.

Approximate measurements are 16 inches wide, 11 1/2 inches tall and approximately 8 1/2 inches deep.
The fitted pistol rack gives the box its original shooting range character, but the two drawer oak construction may also appeal to collectors of vintage machinist boxes, tool chests, shooting accessories or anyone wanting an unusual display or storage cabinet.
No maker name or manufacturer marking was found, so the maker and exact age are unknown.
The box shows honest age and use throughout. There are scratches, scuffs, finish wear and other cosmetic blemishes. The leather handle is worn. The lock has a broken key piece inside. A brass latch was added to secure the front panel. There is minor chipping and wear above the lock where the front panel has apparently been worked loose over the years.
Despite the age and wear, the oak has outstanding visual character and the front paneled section displays beautifully.
Nothing has been refinished or restored by me.
