Vtg 1956 QF-80 Shooting Star Jet Drone Presentation Fragment Piece Display Model:
$1800.00
I will be listing some great items from an estate of along time General Dynamics engineer. Many contractors models. All are fresh to the market and I will combine shipping.
Up for sale is an original vintage QF-80 Shooting Star Jet Drone fragment piece that was made into a presentation gift. This was from the first successful guided flight test when it intercepted and destroyed by a Hawk air defense missile. The test took place at the White Sands Missile Range. This piece was from the QF-80 Drone and was made into a presentation model and gifted to engineers who worked on the program. I am not sure how many of these were made but seems like a really rare piece of military history from the Cold War era. Has the original plaque on the front with the date. Made of aluminum. In great shape for its age. Stands straight and displays well. Measures approx. 6 3/8\" wide by 3\" tall and 1 9/16\" dep. Made of aluminum and weighs 6 ounces unpacked. Being sold as found and seen in the photos. I can not find another item like this so I put a high price on it. Please feel free to reach out with a reasonable offer. Glare spots are from the lights reflection and not on the actual item. Rare item and is a must for any collector. I will combine shipping on multiple wins.
