Well now, here’s an original U.S. Navy publication that was printed while World War II was still being fought.
This is the February 1944 Bureau of Naval Personnel Information Bulletin, Number 323, published for the information and interest of members of the United States Naval Service.
This 72-page wartime issue includes plenty of photographs, reports and firsthand Navy material from the period. Highlights include How It Was Done at Tarawa, When the Nazis Invaded the Western Hemisphere, wartime ordnance, survival in the South Seas, Navy decorations and citations, combat photographs and much more.
There are some mighty interesting wartime images in this one, including the fighting at Tarawa, Navy Armed Guard activity aboard merchant vessels and photographs of ships, sailors and military operations.
The publication even carries the original instruction to “Pass This Copy Along After You Have Read It,” reminding you that these magazines were meant to circulate among Navy personnel.
