Zuni Dough Bowl Pottery c. 1890 Size 3.5\" H x 8.25\" For Sale

This old Zuni bowl is a little smaller than most dough bowls, but the shape seems right to call it a dough bowl. My late husband, Dr. Chris Eisele bought this in Santa Fe in 2018. He was so proud of it. The interior design is in four sections and has painted scallops around the inside of the rim. The exterior is decorated with repeating designs that look to me like sheep shearers at different angles. Decorated in brown and dark red slip. It\'s a rare thing. It has a hairline crack down from a rim chip into the bowl, and there is a 1/4\" hole in the underside where it looks like a stone heated up and popped during firing, leaving a 1\" flat flake in the surface.
