1960s Six Flags Run-A-Way Mine Train Diorama In A Matchbox Souvenir

Rare and unusual 1960s Six Flags Over Texas Run-A-Way Mine Train miniature diorama souvenir, cleverly designed to fit inside a tiny matchbox-style sleeve.
The original red, black and white outer sleeve reads “Souvenir of Your Visit to SIX FLAGS in a MATCH BOX.” Sliding the miniature from the sleeve reveals a detailed three-dimensional representation of the Run-A-Way Mine Train, complete with the coaster scene, surrounding structure, trees and landscaping, and a SIX FLAGS plaque across the front.
The Run-A-Way Mine Train opened in the Boomtown section of Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington, Texas, in 1966. Built by Arrow Development, it was a groundbreaking attraction and is recognized as the first modern mine-train roller coaster. The attraction is now known as the Runaway Mine Train and remains the oldest roller coaster at Six Flags Over Texas.
The side of the original souvenir sleeve reads “YOUR VISIT IN A MATCH BOX” and is marked “MADE IN HONG KONG.”
At just over 2" long, this is an especially interesting piece of early Six Flags memorabilia combining theme-park history, miniature collecting and vintage amusement-park souvenir design.
Excellent Vintage Condition. Miniature diorama remains intact and displays nicely with its original matchbox-style sleeve. The outer cardboard sleeve shows age-related surface wear, including areas of paper wear/residue on back. Please review all photos.
